Women & Girls Community Football Charter

Over the past 5 years the Bannockburn Football Netball Club has been working tirelessly the grow its Women’s and Girls football programs.

Season 2023 saw the introduction of our first Senior womens side, while across in our juniors both our Under 16 and Under 14 girls represented the club in the AFL Barwon junior finals.

This year we have 47 girls playing footy across Under 9’s, 12’s and 14’s and the future is looking bright with our current Under 14 coaches Jayke Short and Connor Jervies committing to coaching our Under 16’s next season.

It is with this growth and strength in mind that we are excited to announce that we have been the first club within the AFL Barwon to be named in the AFL’s Women and Girls Community Football Charter. The Women & Girls Community Football Charter is a commitment from Community Football Leagues, Clubs & Umpire Groups to work towards making Community Football environments welcoming, safe and inclusive for Women & Girls. This charter sets out the expectation that associations will champion women and girls guided by four principles; opportunity, visibility, access and, investment.

These young players are the future of our club and we take great pride in the development of these young girls to become great players, but more importantly great women within our club.
