Established in 1878, Bannockburn is one of the oldest continuously operating clubs in Victoria. We are currently affiliated with the Geelong and District Football League, which is well recognised as one of the most innovative and well run leagues in the state.

In 2002 Netball was introduced into our league with immediate success and we now field four senior and nine junior netball teams each week. The addition of netball has proven to be a huge success in broadening the membership base of the club as well as providing a sporting outlet for young women in the community.

The philosophy of our club is to seek on field success through nurturing and developing our juniors rather than recruiting players from outside the area. Our junior football program is one of the strongest in Geelong and we are very proud of the achievements of our junior teams in recent years.

The senior football team have tasted premiership success in 1925, 1931, 1990, 1997,1998, 2003, having played in every grand final from 1996-2001. Our most recent success was in 2019 against Thomson and again in 2022 against Inverleigh in a nail biting game that saw 82 points kicked between the 2 sides in the final quarter.   Our reserve footballers have also tasted success in the past, having won the 1975, 2001, 2005, 2007 and 2018 premierships.

Our skilled netballers have fielded teams in all but 2 finals series since netball was introduced, with our A grade team premiership winners in 2019, not to mention the success of our junior netball teams in recent years, with our Under 13’s taking out the 2022 Premiership. It is also very pleasing to us that 80% of the players in our senior team have risen through the ranks of our juniors, and as our netball squad has developed we are beginning to see juniors from previous years commencing to be part of our senior teams.

We are also lucky to have a large group of dedicated and active committee members and volunteers who work together to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations as well as planning for the long-term future of the club.
